Goal Fests!

Pinky Parker1 Nov 2017 - 23:35

10 goals in 2 games!!

That's Life
- ?

Wow!!

Ten goals coming in just two games and not one goal past our awesome keeper Jack Farmer!

First we played St Neots Town Reserves and I have great pleasure in telling you that I did not do a match report but a KTS student, Charlie Bowkett did and you can find it in the match report section of the fixture.

We're all hoping Charlie enjoyed his day with us last Saturday and really hope he decides to come and do some more!

Lewis Barker was given the MOM for his outstanding performance and he received a bottle of bubbly from Pinky on behalf of the Chairman Graham Kingham.

On Tuesday we went away to Codicote. It has to be said there was a touch of tension in the air, Codicote had posted a tweet which could have been taken two ways, then the opposition assistant manager had a little spat with me and Jim about which unmarked dug out - pop up bench - they should be in! Well me and Jim were not fussed as to where we sat and found it rather amusing!

Jim Bundy was, as usual, the ever friendly host. As was his lovely daughter who It was lovely to see some youngsters helping with the ball retrieval and particularly a young lad called Charlie who was very entertaining.

The Codicote pitch looked absolutely lovely. It takes a remarkable team of volunteers to put a game on at the sports centre and its always great to see everyone working so well as a team off the pitch before and after the game, putting up the nets, the posts, as well as everything else. If the team could pitch in and get some league wins then the volunteers might feel a bit happier. They really are an amazing bunch of volunteers.

However, back to the game and in an evening of 5 goals and an own goal from the Home team it was all very entertaining. The goals began with Joshua Coley scoring on the 14th minute of the first half with a banging cross into goal. Then just before half time ex-cod Alfie Barker scored to get the Baldock boys a 0-2 lead at half time.

With an OG from the Cod's the tally was up to 0-3 when Lewis Barker left footed a half volley into the net to take it up to 0-4. But the Baldock hadn't finished the gruelling punishment on the home team. Alex Coppin getting on the score sheet on the 70th minute (0-5)

With substitutions being made for both teams (including the Cod GK) the final goal came from Owen Robertson, who definitely got MOM! 0-6! Final score.

The boys done good, MummaPink was a happy Mumma Bear!

Everyone's weird 'Uncle' Kenna, the oldest starter again at 29. (oh he's soooooo old! I don't know why he has to keep going on about it either)

Sadly for Codicote, it was announced on Wednesday that the club and Gifton Noel-Williams had parted ways and the Cod's were, again, looking for another Manager. I'm sure that we all hope they get one soon as the Cod club and committee have always been a good bunch.

This Saturday the Baldock boys are off to the Chipperfield Corinthians with a KO of 1.30pm.

I mislaid the kit and didn't notice until Wednesday afternoon that she hadn't taken it home - somehow I think I might be getting a massive fine for this moment of brain failure!

Oh well, .... 'That's Life' as someone said ...... somewhere on Tuesday night ... hmmmmm who was that again?
